| This is a neat collection of designs by Artist Karen Kluba. Inspired by lots of quilts and samplers... there are a couple of really nice patriotic designs here as well. All offered as leaflets, Karen is really considerate about offering lots of different ideas for smaller 'take-out' designs from her larger works. Each pattern has ideas for smaller ornaments, scissor fobs, towel borders, sampler bands... all sorts of good things. It makes your pattern book so much more versatile... doesn't it take away any 'quilt' associated with 'collecting???' | |
 Lighthouse IslandRosewood Manor has a *really cool* new Biscornu-shaped seaside village... houses and businesses on one side, and the mad, churning waves gracing the other! Stitched on 32ct light blue linen... each building that goes around the whole piece is unique, and full of lots of tiny details. Lighthouses, shops, cottages, hotels, a market, City Hall, the boathouse, schools and churches... just charming! They are on the top side. The bottom is a brilliant medley of rolling waves, so full of color and motion. Simply stitch both sides, and hand-attach together to make your 8-ish inch cushion! I've not seen anything like this, so it has been endearing. Karen shows some wrapped fish thread winders tossed into the center cavity, just for decoration.  Quaker Diamonds Rosewood Manor has a new Quaker-inspired sampler that is full of diagonal, lacy features. Stitched with the SAME color palette of Valdani hand-dyed flosses as Quakers and Quilts, this finishes approx 12 x 19; it's quite large, and full of details and vibrant color. Just x's... this is very elegant... and a fun way to use the 3-strand Valdani overdyeds! Offered as a chart. | |
 Sailing Ships SamplerThis is a cool 14 x 16 piece... you can stitch it just as it is... or take specific motifs out of it and make smaller samplers, or add little ships to other designs you already have! Karen Kluba has lots of different ideas for this medley of sailing ships... she has initials in here to signify weddings -- kind of like a family tree. You can use waste canvas and stitch ships and anchors on napkins and placemats for your 'luxury yacht'... or lake house! The whole thing is simple cross stitch, and suggested colors are Deep Sea and Bordeaux Weeks overdyed. You can use almost anything you want! The leaflet includes several other smaller charts, with the borders and motifs arranged differently... quite the creative and charming piece!!!  Language of the FlowersInspired by their beauty, and the messages flowers send to all, Rosewood Manor's Karen Kluba has designed an awesome random spot motif sampler that lists all sorts of different flowers -- along with their specific meanings! During Victorian times, small bouquets -- Tussie-Mussies -- were given as gifts, usually with secret messages hidden inside! Definitely a quicker way to communicate to your secret love than stitching this piece... THIS is much longer lasting!!! Offered as a leaflet, there are flower motifs for each letter of the alphabet, and loads of floral urns and tiny individual motifs. As with all of Karen's patterns, you can pull out small designs, stitching them into pin cushions or fobs -- really just anything. Coded for DMC flosses, the main piece finishes approx 18-1/2 inches square on 28ct! Just lovely, like the real things, your floral garden is delicate, lacy, charming, and speaks volumes!!! | |
 Flowers, Plants & Fishes... beasts, birds... rivers, trees... There's nothing near at hand or farthest sought But with the needle may be shaped and wrought. Rosewood Manor has a new sampler -- very 'organic' in feel!!! All things found in nature -- we stitch them all!!! As always, Karen's pattern is full of smaller 'take-out' designs suitable for ornaments, fobs, cushions and cases... you name it! The center panel at the bottom is also charted as a Chinese Proverb Tree -- Keep a green tree in your heart, and perhaps a singing bird will come.  Watch Over MeA cool birth sampler -- you get to personalize the WHOLE THING!!! Alphabets are supplied, along with a huge planning sheet of graph paper (if you need it!) to design and re-arrange to fit the family. Basically, this piece celebrates the new baby, and lets you surround her/his information with the initials of as many ancestors as you can!!! Stitch it as is... or got to town!! Quakers and QuiltsThis is a really cool 3-part piece... I didn't realize its versatility, till I saw the monochromatic Quaker half pictured on the booklet's back cover. Look carefully... the top third is a simple alphabet which would be pretty all by itself. Next, add the row of Quaker motifs. Stunning... you even have enough information in the charts to duplicate the missing tops in case you want just that row! Finally, finish off with the intricate row of quilt blocks!  Each one of those in incredible just by itself... but put them together, and wow! One of Karen's trademarks is all her extra 'Bonus Charts' scattered throughout her patterns, this one being no different. You get smaller Quaker samplers, more little borders, and all sorts of project ideas for needlecases, etc. The entire piece measures 19 x 10 on 32ct, so its quite generous in size. Family ReunionThis 18 x 18 square piece is a commanding tribute to your family! Karen has designed an intricate medley of motifs -- 46 of them -- that surround special dates and initials of those you hold dear. All of it is nestled together into a lovely family tree sampler. The pattern book is a whopping 46 pages... and my gosh... there are tons of alphabets, borders, corners, and ways to arrange them... BESIDES the main sampler! Absolutely lovely, the entire piece is charted for DMC floss, and worked in cross stitch. Karen provides smaller project versions, too, if the family is just beginning... or you simply don't want to stitch the entire piece! All the neat motifs that show off your special initals, there is SO MUCH you can do with this design! (If nothing else, keep it as an alphabet and border reference book!) | |
Sixteen BirdsA pretty piece, that does, of course, feature 16 birds!!! Finishing approx 6-1/2 x 22 inches on 28ct, this is another piece by Karen Kluba that is stuffed full of project options! Each Dutch-inspired band is just charming all by itself. The alphabet that matches the numerals near the bottom is included for full personalization, and there are three more pages of bonus charts provided for ornaments, needlecases, small samplers, fobs, just WHATEVER!!! All the pretty DMC shades of 315 and 316, 645 and 647, 926 and 927, 3041s, 3045s, 3051s, ... verrrry pretty! | |
 And a Garden GrewRosewood Manor's Karen Kluba has designed another awesome medley of flora and fauna! A companion of sorts to 'And a Forest Grew' this piece celebrates everything that grows and lives in your garden!!! In paging through the book, I found 12 different little creatures -- birds, bunnies, bugs, even a hedgehog -- all hidden among the pots, urns, and vases of blooming flowers. Finishing an impressive 18 x 18 on 32ct, this is coded for DMC or Anchor floss, and uses crosses, back stitch and a few Algerian Eyelets. Stuffed full of detail, color and charm, the book also offers lots of smaller 'out-takes' from the main design to create pin cushions, fobs, needlebooks, smaller samplers, just all kinds of things. There is so much you can do with a pattern like this... it's just so much fun paging through it! A complete alphabet is also provided to personalize anything you want. The featured verse is from Henry Ward Beecher; 'Flowers are the sweetest things God ever made, and forgot to put a soul into.' So... check that thread stash... you'll need 120 different colors for this one! | |
 Something Old and Something NewI've had a wonderful time paging through this book... counting 44 different designs!!! The cover hints at only 16... but there are TONS of cool things in here! A collection of Rosewood Manor's past offerings, it's her 10th Anniversary Collection of ornaments, freebies, little exclusives and
what-nots from her past years of designing. Included with each chart is the original published date, and sometimes where it appeared. Everything under the sun in here... lots of floral baskets, welcomes, a few patriotic things, lots of little samplers and Christmas ornaments... actually there are several charted alphabets as well... which *always* come in handy! You'll really enjoy this book! | |
 Seasons of the TreesSpring, Summer, Autumn, Winter... see all the trees -- their many greens and browns -- throughout the seasons... Spring at the left... flowing into Winter at the right. Rosewood Manor's Karen Kluba has a real talent for her trees, her lacy motifs, her full, balanced, busy and intriguing designs! You can study her things over and over again, and each time, you're treated to some new little detail tucked somewhere in there! Seasons of the Trees is no different! Offered as a leaflet, this is stitched on 28ct and measures a generous 11 x 18. Worked with regular DMC flosses... you'll use 48 of them from your stash! Her charts are huge... and best of all... in paging through the leaflet, I find 14 BONUS charts... little (and some a bit larger) take-outs from the main design that are suitable for needle books, ornaments, fobs, and mini-samplers!  Cranberry Row and Cranberry in the PinesWow... Rosewood Manor has delivered us two stocking designs that are stuffed FULL of evergreen trees and nothing else, but charm! Stitched on 28ct Platinum Cashel Linen in just a few shades of DMC greens and browns, each is generously garnished with Mill Hill's metallic burnt red bead color of 3003. (Like 3 to 5 packages of beads per stocking!!!) Great motifs, pretty color, quite a neat and different subject matter for a stocking, WHO KNEW there were this many different Christmas Trees??? Extremely well done, each is offered as a leaflet, and each stocking finishes approx 12 x 18. PERFECT for that 'non-frilly and cute' person on Santa's List! | |
 ABC TapestryRosewood Manor's most recent release... we thought her Inspiration Sampler
was simply the tops... and then THIS came out! Who has enough time to
stitch all these awesome designs!!!? Karen Kluba has done it again, by
bringing us 28 samplers ... one of sampler motifs, one of heart motifs and
26 more -- one for each letter of the alphabet... all in mono-chromatic
Redwork! All of this is offered in a single 30-page book. Each letter has its own page, and each design features the letter, along with several featured cross-stitched motifs. (S is for seahorse, squirrels, sailboat, snowflake, swan and snail... T is for tulips, train, tree, turtle and teapot...etc) The backgrounds of each sampler are filled in with all sorts of sizes and fonts of it's letter -- so actually, if you are in need of some charted alphabet letters for other design applications -- get this book!!! Anyway, the entire thing is stitched in red. (Redwork!) BUT... you are allowed to change colors... and overdyeds would be awesome! Different finishing options pictured on the book's back cover, each sampler block finishes approx 5 x 6-1/2 on 28ct. You can stitch a 'word' of blocks, or a 'name' of blocks... anything you want. Total size is a whopping 290 x 690, which is approx 21 x 49 on 28ct!!! Who has time to waste by eating and sleeping, when there is this much good stitching waiting for you!!!? | |
 InspirationWhat an understatement!!! Karen Kluba of Rosewood Manor has outdone herself with this breathtaking piece! Offered as a leaflet, you'll find 30 pages of the main chart split up into smaller sections -- to fit the pages, and make stitching easier. Worked entirely in 32 colors of DMC flosses, this measures approx 14 x 18 on 32ct. Along with the main sampler piece, there are all sorts of smaller charts included for two scissor fobs, a needlebook, mini-sampler, a larger floral bouquet piece, as well as the tiny charts of one-over-one detail in the main piece. So pretty and colorful, so delicate and intricate, there is so much to see in here, it's one that you keep paging and paging through. Execute the Double Running Stitch instead of Backstitch in this piece... it will save lots of thread and make the backside of the needlework lovely! You have lots of fabric options with this... even count! The 32ct Moonglow called for by Picture This Plus comes in a 1/4-yard piece (24.00) -- but that gives you only 2 inches of extra fabric on each side... the 1/2 yard piece ($48.00) is twice the price... the 28ct Moonglow ($48.00) would require the 1/2 yard piece... we have lots of other 32 and 28s (in the price range of $21.60), too!!! And a Forest Grew Ok... pull out your DMC floss... this awesome piece uses no less than 100 of them!!! Every green you can imagine... lots of chestnuts, butterscotch, and terra cotta earth tones, this sampler is delightful to look at! Karen, the designer, says she was researching trees for samplers, and found so many different ones... that 'A Forest Grew!' Filled with so many charming details of tiny forest wildlife, and delicate, lacy trees, you just keep looking at this and finding something new all the time. Stitched on 32ct Cream Belfast Linen, this finishes an impressive 26 x 12-1/2. There are several ideas and smaller charts included to help you pull out little bits here and there, to add to a needle case somewhere, or create some bands for another sampler. So different, such pretty balance with the sizes, colors and detail! Offered as a leaflet. Need floss? Check your stash first! Need Linen? On 32ct... you'll need 19 x 32. On 28ct ... you'll need 20 x 36. As Ye Sow All the Flowers of Tomorrow are in the Seeds of Today is the verse in this lovely piece, that is a generous collection of alphabets and floral vases!! Check out all those delightfully different little floral motifs in this! There are 36 different ones in just two rows... how cool if you need one for another piece, a needlecase or scissor fob? | Acorns, Pears and Grapes All Around This is a neat set of four different designs -- each offered individually in leaflet format -- that are all the same size. Stitched on 28ct Natural Linen, they measure approx 8 x 10, and are worked in regular DMC floss. My personal favorite here is the acorn... but look at each of these. First, the border that contains miniatures of the central fruit. Then, you get the actual fruit, itself... complete with a sampler alphabet inside! Then, there are little bugs and birds -- the acorn has squirrels, the strawberry has bunnies. Something about these is charming, pretty for a kitchen wall. | |
Tulip Quilt Sampler The newest by Rosewood Manor this is really cool!!! Offered as a chart, the entire piece measures 7 x 25 on 28ct. But there are so many ways to break this up... the sky’s the limit for finished size and shape! Pretty mauves, teals, golds and greens, the entire pattern is a medley of tulip quilt designs, all stitched with regular cross stitches. Make little pin cushions or scissor fobs, larger pillows, or even the big sampler -- this has lots of possibilities! |
